My name is Nishant Chand. I was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland — but my roots run deeper than that. I come from a proud Fijian-Indian family, with a strong heritage that traces straight back to Fiji. The values my family carried with them — hard work, respect, and faith — are the foundation of everything I've built.
I went to Jimboomba State School as a kid, then completed high school at Canterbury College. They were great schools — but I'll be honest, I was never built for the classroom. While other students were focused on assignments, my mind was somewhere else entirely: business.
All through high school, I was starting ventures on the side. I launched my own private clothing brand and sold on Amazon. I sold on Etsy. I sold on Facebook Marketplace. I even created custom-branded jewellery. And here's the truth — every single one of them failed.
But failure never scared me. Every failed business taught me something the classroom never could. I knew each setback was building toward something bigger.
Those years weren't losses — they were my education.
After finishing school, I spent twelve months in the workforce — learning, observing, and preparing. Then, at just 19 years old, I founded Atlantis Recruitment Brisbane, becoming one of the youngest recruitment directors in Australia.
What drove me to do this so young? It wasn't the schooling system. It was something engraved in me from the very beginning — a hunger to build, to create, and to prove that age is just a number.
Today, Atlantis Recruitment is growing every single day, and I'm incredibly blessed for the journey that brought me here.
No matter what age you are, you can achieve greatness — as long as you believe in yourself, believe in God, and respect yourself in the process.
